Striped Bass Two-Sided Fish Mount

Striped Bass is a silvery, dark-striped, food and game bass (Morone saxatilis) of the same family (Percichthyidae) as white bass, found along the coasts of North America. The striped bass is the largest member of the sea bass family, often called "temperate" or "true" bass to distinguish it from species such as largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass which are actually members of the sunfish family Centrarchidae. Stripers are often captured using artificial lures that imitate small fish, such as silver spoons. Striped bass will take a number of live and fresh baits including bunker, clams, sandworms, bloodworms, and mackerel. The largest striped bass ever caught by angling was a 35.6 kg (78.5 lb) specimen taken in Atlantic City, New Jersey on September 1982.
